At Avamere at Lexington, we know moving yourself or a loved one to assisted living can be an emotional and trying process. It can also be hard to determine when the time is right for specialized care. Many don’t understand the basics of what assisted living is and other levels of senior care.

According to the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL), assisted living is part of a network of long-term care services that provides a combination of housing, personal care services, and healthcare designed to respond to individuals who need assistance with normal daily activities in a way that promotes maximum independence.

There can be several levels of service in assisted living at Avamere at Lexington. Much of it depends on the needs of you or your loved one. From our activities calendar to help with medication and housekeeping, we tailor our assisted living options to specifically meet the needs of our residents.
