Four teams across the Avamere Family of Companies spread the season of giving for families in the Eugene, Oregon area.
Avamere Riverpark of Eugene, Avamere Rehabilitation of Eugene, Avamere Rehabilitation of Junction City, and Signature Healthcare at Home teams donated their time, food, and caring hearts to give Thanksgiving meals to families in need. They served alongside Waterford Grand, an assisted living and memory care community closely partnered with Avamere in the Eugene area.
Organized by PeaceHealth in 1936, Avamere and Signature have participated in this program for over 10 years.
1,000 Thanksgiving meals
The Avamere family team exceeded their goal of donating 500 cans of yams with over 600 donations. The Waterford Grand team collected over 1,000 more donations from businesses and skilled nursing communities throughout Eugene.
Together with PeaceHealth, the volunteers assembled and delivered 1,000 Thanksgiving meals to families.
Sheri Swanson from Signature and Rene Alexander from Avamere helped deliver the Thanksgiving meal baskets along with Dorian Acuri from Waterford Grand.
“Never imagined the magnitude,” said Rene Alexander, CareConnect Hospital Liaison with Avamere.
Brandy Williford, project lead and caseworker at PeaceHealth, shared her gratitude on Facebook.
“The culmination of nearly a year of love and work and more love,” she wrote. “1,000 families in our county will have feasts in Thanksgiving thanks to these incredible volunteers!”

Season of thanks and giving
Participation in this program is part of Avamere’s focus on a season of thanks and giving, where they take an extra effort to share what they’re most thankful for and serve their local community.
Thank you to our Avamere and Signature teams for your kind work and for exemplifying our mission to enhance the life of every person we serve.
