South Ogden, Utah is home to gorgeous mountains, Utah’s only whitewater park, and adjacent to 170,000 acres of National Forest.

But it’s also home to a well-known, respected senior living community.

The Avamere Family of Companies acquired a new community in South Ogden, Utah as of April 1, 2019, Avamere at Mountain Ridge.

Mountain Ridge has served the local seniors for 18 years. Executive Director Johnny DelVecchio says it has a great reputation in their local community. In fact, many current residents knew someone who had lived there at one point.

One individual sat in their office for two hours – his family had brought him there to consider Mountain Ridge as home, but he was adamant about not living there.

DelVecchio said in those few short hours, his perspective changed after he walked around the building, met the staff, and truly saw what Mountain Ridge was all about. Now he is a current resident and loves it there.

“We call it mountain magic,” DelVecchio said. “We have a fantastic team. Everybody is real, they follow through, and they care.”

DelVecchio has been in the healthcare field for 10 years. Prior to that, he was a restaurant owner for 15 years. This job took exceptional customer service – a skill DelVecchio applies to his job today.

“It’s all about how you make people feel,” he said. “I’m an advocate of the elderly. I want them to feel safe and thrive.”

DelVecchio is thrilled to join the Avamere Family of Companies.

“I’m excited about the new energy,” he said. “This is our chance to shine. Avamere has been growing recently, and I’m excited to be a part of it.”
