Veterans Day at Avamere Olympic Rehabilitation of Sequim

November 20, 2019

Veterans at Avamere Olympic Rehabilitation of Sequim enjoyed free balloon rides to recognize their honorable service.

Honoring veterans with balloon rides

The rehabilitation community partnered with Dream Cather Balloon to show their appreciation and support for the veterans in their local community. This event was open to the public.

The veterans had a great time soaking in the view from high above.

“I got to ride the balloon this week,” said Shirley Roberts, resident at Avamere. “I’ve wanted to do that my whole life. It was so much fun. Thank you so much for letting me do that!”

The Sequim team also provided treats while the residents waited their turn warm and cozy indoors. They enjoyed cider, coffee, fresh fruit, muffins, and cookies.

They also honored veterans in their rehabilitation community with handmade cards from American Legion Auxiliary. Residents made thank-you cards for veterans and hand delivered the cards with cookies.

It was truly a day full of remembrance at Avamere Olympic Rehabilitation of Sequim.
