Dale Fruehauf, MS, SPHR, joins the Avamere Family of Companies as the Vice President of Human Resources starting April 15, 2019.
Fruehauf brings over 25 years of experience in the HR field with over 20 years providing senior HR leadership in a variety of industries. Before starting his career in HR, Fruehauf had seven years of experience in healthcare as a certified nursing assistant working with dementia residents. What attracted him to Avamere was the opportunity to return to his roots in senior healthcare by combining his passion for serving seniors with his business and leadership skills.
New role aligns with People Priority
In his new role as Vice President of HR, Fruehauf will bring HR and business together as the Avamere Family of Companies breaks down the silos that previously divided them, joining together in an integrated network of care.
Fruehauf will take a lead role in implementing Avamere’s People Priority in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization, specifically in areas of engagement, talent management, organizational effectiveness, performance management, employee and labor relations, and training and development.
“I look forward to hearing from our leaders and employees on what motivates them to come to work, and how we can further support them in doing their best work every day.”
This aligns with Avamere’s People Priority – a focus on helping team members feel valued and providing opportunities for growth.
A listening tour
Fruehauf looks forward to connecting with people, building relationships, and going on a “listening tour.”
“I believe the truth is on the floor,” Fruehauf said. “Go out, ask, and seek to understand.”
This isn’t a one-person job, according to Fruehauf, and he plans to focus on engaging team members to impact the business together. Fruehauf said. “I am excited to begin working with leaders and the HR team, leveraging their ideas to help address our opportunities for building our people and culture.”
To him, success equals an engaged workforce. But it’s not just about the team. Fruehauf wants to find ways to attract, develop, and retain great people but also impact the business to provide better care for patients and residents.
“It’s about finding that ability to connect with both sides of the business,” Fruehauf said about his new role.
Fruehauf has a master’s degree in industrial/organizational psychology and is a certified Senior Human Resource Professional, awarded by the HR Certification Institute.
The Avamere Family of Companies is proud to welcome Fruehauf as the Vice President of HR.
