Two female nurses in scrubs

From the moment people join the Avamere Crestview of Portland team, many can already sense the culture of camaraderie and teamwork. Here’s a glimpse into the life of a certified nursing assistant (CNA) at Avamere Crestview of Portland.

From a CNA and on

CNAs begin their nursing career at Avamere Crestview of Portland with free nursing assistant classes – no prior experience needed!

From there, they can grow their career with Avamere. Robb Melcher, Administrator at Avamere Crestview of Portland, said several nurses are working towards beginning nursing school to become a nurse at Avamere.

But no matter their career ambitions, Robb fully supports his staff.

“We are supportive in helping people advance their careers, and I fully support helping them get to where they want to be,” he shared.

A culture of teamwork and respect

Robb strives to create a culture of teamwork and respect amongst his team. This includes spreading positivity and offering support to staff.

The staff, in turn, share this same culture of respect with patients and residents.

Robb noted the CNAs truly care for the patients and residents, even down to learning how they like to be fed and how they like to get into bed.

“They really pay attention to those details,” Robb said. “They make sure our residents are happy and comfortable.”

A strong, long-lasting team

Avamere Crestview of Portland’s strong culture of teamwork stems from its long-tenured team. Several nursing staff have been with the company for many years.
