Welcome home. Avamere at Chestnut Lane Independent and Assisted Living Community, located in Gresham Oregon, provides senior living options to the deaf community.
My brother ended up in Avamere at Chestnut Lane in Gresham. My experience there was great. The administrator invited us in and gave us lunch in the dining room, so we could experience the food and everything there. It’s very special and mainly for deaf/blind folks. There’s only two in the country that are like that, so people come from all over the country. A lot of the staff members are also deaf there. They have a chef and better food than some other places. They have crafts and bingo, and because it’s a deaf community, they offer sign language to their residents who are not deaf, so they can learn to communicate with the other people.
