Sanitizing high-contact areas frequently
Avamere enhanced its cleaning protocols, and employees are sanitizing high-contact areas frequently. You’ll also find hand sanitizer at various points throughout our buildings, including at the front desk, to encourage sanitizing our hands in addition to our surfaces throughout the senior community.
Daily wellness checks
Safety is a priority! Employees conduct wellness checks before the start of each shift. This includes taking temperature and answering general wellness questions.
Avamere employees regularly conduct COVID-19 tests. In addition, several Avamere communities participated in COVID-19 surface testing, where they tested various surfaces throughout the building for the virus.
Required two-week quarantine
Avamere requires a two-week quarantine if a staff member becomes infected with COVID-19, per direction from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
In addition to this safety precaution, Avamere also requires quarantine following specific situations with high risk of exposure, such as traveling by plane or visiting an area with a large amount of COVID-19 cases.
Connecting with loved ones at a distance
Mental and emotional health is just as important as physical health. That’s why Avamere staff work compassionately to connect residents and patients with loved ones.
Employees help organize video calls, window visits, and in select locations, outdoor visits separated by a safety shield so seniors can enjoy much-needed visits with family and friends.
