Honoring the accomplishments and contributions of Indigenous peoples of the Americas.
The month of November is the time to celebrate the culture, accomplishments, and contributions of the Indigenous peoples of the Americas. Visit our social media channels as we bring to life stories of the diversity and long history of Indigenous people across the United States.
WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY
Recognized October 10, Avamere is helping raise mental health awareness and emphasizing that each of us can make a contribution to ensure that people living with mental illness can live better lives with dignity.
INTERNATIONAL DAY OF OLDER PERSONS
Honored October 1, this day raises awareness about issues affecting the elderly, such as senescence and elder abuse. It is also a day to appreciate the contributions that older people make to society.
INTERNATIONAL DAY OF SIGN LANGUAGES
The International Day of Sign Languages, September 23, is an opportunity to support and protect the linguistic identity and cultural diversity of all who are Deaf and other sign language users. This observance promotes the use of sign languages in recognition of the 72 million Deaf individuals worldwide.
INTERNATIONAL WEEK OF DEAF PEOPLE
Observed this year September 20-26, International Week of Deaf People focuses on promoting the positive aspects of Deafness, encouraging social inclusion, and raising awareness of the organizations that support those who are Deaf.
HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH
Beginning September 15, Hispanic Heritage Month is a time to celebrate and honor people of Hispanic heritage who have influenced America in a monumental way and learn about their impact on American culture.
PURPLE HEART DAY
Purple Heart Day is observed on August 7 each year and is a time for Americans to remember and honor the brave men and women who were either wounded on the battlefield, or paid the ultimate sacrifice with their lives.
